RMIT University – Visual Merchandise – Window Displays

In May 2014, we challenged the Visual Merchandise students at RMIT University Australia to create a 30 metre window mural to visually portray the meaning of 300 Blankets and the realities of homelessness in Australia.

Homelessness is not always pretty but the end result created a stunning image. The purpose of the mural was to raise awareness of homeless in Australia and to encourage the community to take more notice of the people in need that are all around us. The display also included over 300 messages of hope written by RMIT students. Most of the messages of hope have been inserted into our blankets which have been distributed around Victoria. See all of the photos at the RMIT – School of Architecture flickr page.

We wish all of the bright students involved with the project the very best for the future.
