With a core mission of helping keep our community warm, 300 Blankets is ready to kick start its 2013 fundraising efforts in spectacular musical style. On 23 March 2013, 300 Blankets will present Music for Blankets – a live music event to help raise funds to support Victoria’s homeless community. Bringing some of Melbourne’s finest local musicians to the fore, Music for Blankets will showcase the rich tapestry that is Melbourne’s live music scene. The up-close and intimate setting of Fashion Lounge will play host to the likes of The Keiths!, Surreal, The Peeks, Angry Plant, and Atkinson Jones.

As we bid farewell to summer and welcome in autumn, the team at 300 Blankets are all too aware that winter will soon be upon us. With daytime and overnight temperatures set to drop, winter is an extremely challenging time of year for many Victorians who find themselves sleeping rough. In fact statistics indicate around 20,000 Victorians are considered homeless and are living without adequate housing or shelter. With winter fast approaching, blankets and other items will be in high demand but unfortunately there never seems to be enough.

So come along and show your support of live and local music and help raise funds to assist Victorians experiencing homelessness. Door prizes, spot prizes and raffles will be drawn during the event so make sure you get there early and stick around! And to make sure you keep your energy levels up all night, a gold-coin sausage sizzle will be running throughout the evening.

It promises to be a spectacular night of great music, fun and positive community spirit.
